In Memory of
David Thomas Walker
Son / Brother / Father
His laugh....
Message to all
To friends and Family in Ky., Va. and Utah. It is with sadness, sorrow and disbelief that we are telling you
of the tragic and untimely death of David Thomas Walker (Dave Falio) on Sept 7, 2018 in Utah. His family
was with him when he passed and his organs were donated per his wishes. He leaves behind his mother
Deborah (Walker-Mohney)(Dwight) and his beloved brother John (Caryn), his niece Ashley, and many
Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind 3 wonderful children. Islan, Kezten and Fovea who he
was not allowed to see due to family difficulties and a DVO that was not substantiated before the family
broke and remained to haunt him for 9 years thereafter and aided to his demise. All he ever wanted was
to be a DAD and that privilege was taken away. He thought of them daily and financially supported them
until his death. He had always told them to “look up at the stars and they would see him even if they
could not see him in person”.
He never met a stranger, would give you the shirt off his back and loved life in a simple way. He was not
materialistic and lived frugally to support his family from afar. He struggled every day to live life without
them and often reflected/struggled with that great burden. He loved nature, the outdoors and the ‘Big
Sky’. He saw everyone as “struggling to live life” and did not believe or have the radar for “bad people”.
They took our son, brother and would be father from this world and we’re so sad and heartbroken to let
him go. We know he is in a better place but miss him beyond belief. Although his death was tragic and
unexpected he tried to live his life openly, often befriending those who others would reject. There by
trying to fill the void that not seeing his children had opened. He had a deep belly laugh, a yes sir and yes
ma’am to everyone and a “my pleasure” when you asked for help. If you recognize “MY GUY CAN” and
David forgot to send you an invoice for work done, now is the time to repay that debt my friend. His
family wishes he was here rather that asking for support to lay him to rest. A good man, he did not
deserve to die with so much life ahead of him. He was 48 years old and loved life and all people. No one
every heard him say a bad thing about anybody. He leaves behind his second family. His friend from
middle school, Mohammed Yusuf, his wife and five beautiful children. David substituted his friends’
children for his own but it was never quite the same. We are grateful for their loving friendship to him
for over 30 years and their unwavering support during this difficult time far from our home.
Cremation was chosen and you are invited to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Oct. 27, 2018 at
2:30 PM at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Ave. The family is requesting NO FLOWERS PLEASE.
Contributions to his children’s education fund will be accepted at David Walker c/o Deborah Walker @
stock yards bank. Envelopes at the service will be provided or give to a charity of your choice.
